Metallica Rose Harrison killed her family at Great Wolf Lodge

Metallica Rose Harrison is accused of stabbing her husband and three-year-old son to death at a Great Wolf Lodge resort before attempting to take her own life.

A vision of a happy family ends in a resort room

Metallica Rose Harrison killed her husband and young son to end a perceived failure. Police found Charles Harrison and the boy, T.H., stabbed to death on mattresses at the Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun. Harrison called 911 on Monday, October 12, 2026, and told the operator she was too weak to stab her own neck. She said her husband and son were already gone. Officers found a large knife and a smaller knife in the bathroom.

Harrison told ambulance staff she wanted her happy family and envisioned it since childhood. She expressed frustration that her blood clotted after she took thinning medication to aid her suicide. The killings follow the mechanism of the Chris Watts family murders. In 2018, Christopher Watts murdered his pregnant wife by strangulation and his two daughters by suffocation. He buried his wife in a shallow grave and placed the girls in oil tanks. Harrison destroyed the people who defined her role.

The killings follow a known pattern

The resort serves as a destination for family bonding. The Harrison family checked in on September 21 and stayed until the discovery on October 13. Staff said the knives did not belong to the lodge. The Pocono Mountains region brings mass tourism into remote Pennsylvania terrain. This contrast highlights the violence inside the resort.

Monroe County District Attorney Mike Mancuso charged Harrison with two counts of homicide. Harrison told detectives she was suicidal but not stupid when they read her Miranda warning. She refused to speak. Police recovered 80 to 90 pieces of evidence from the hotel room. Chief James Wagner said the investigation will tax the department.

Will the resort face scrutiny?

The defense may seek a psychiatric evaluation to assess her mental state. Mancuso said the incident is a domestic tragedy. Courts in Pennsylvania often order evaluations in cases involving severe depression. The resort may face scrutiny regarding how it monitors guests during long stays. The autopsies will confirm the sequence of the deaths.
